Diagnosis for Jacobs syndrome can include a prenatal exam before the baby is born or a blood test after birth. Many times it is not obvious the disorder is even present.
Treatment: Although it is impossible to fix the amount of chromosomes a person has, there are ways to help with problems the disorder may cause like having tutors in case the child has difficulty reading or in school. The disorder cannot be fixed itself but it can be helped.
Lifestyle adjustments: There aren't many adjustments a man with XYY disorder can make. Some men live a full life without even knowing they have the disorder. The lifespan for a man with this disease is just as long as any other male, the disease will most likely not affect the lifespan.
